Teaching

Teaching

In 2008 I graduated from the University of Strathclyde with a honours degree in English studies. Three years later, I qualified as a secondary school English teacher by completed the PGDE at the University of the West of Scotland.

I spent the first three years of my teaching career on the Isle of Arran, where I was sent for my probationary year before my position was made permanent. My family had to return to Glasgow in 2014, at which point I took up a teaching post in a further education college.

While on Arran I taught S1-3 classes (known in Scotland as the Broad General Education phase) as well as the the full range of senior phase English qualifications: Standard Grade, Intermediate, Nationals, Highers and Advanced Highers. As a college lecturer I have also gained a great deal of experience delivering courses in communication, literature and journalism.

As a freelancer I am now available for teaching, planning, advisory and consulting roles and would be very happy to discuss opportunities in these areas.

(Please note: I do not offer private English tutoring services)
